ดอก : ออกเป็นช่ออยู่ตามง่ามใบ ช่อดอกยาวประมาณ 2-8 นิ้ว ไม่มีก้านดอก ซึ่งดอกนี้มีขนาดเล็กกลีบสีชมพูหรือสีแดงอ่อน ส่วนฐานติดกัน ปลายแยกออกเป็น 5 กลีบ [1] [5]

ดอก : ออกเป็นดอกช่อ ดอกของผักปลังขาวสีขาว ดอกของผักปลังแดงสีขาวอมชมพู ใบประดับ 2 ใบเล็กๆ ติดกันและปลายแยกออกเป็น 5 กลีบ ขนาดเส้นผ่าศูนย์กลาง 5-6 มม. [3] [4]

ต้น : ลำต้นมีสีเขียวหรือสีม่วงแดง หากมีสีเขียว เรียกว่า "ผักปลังขาว" สีม่วงแดงเรียกว่า "ผักปลังแดง" [1] [3] [4]

ต้น : เป็นพรรณไม้เลื้อย ที่มีลำเถายาวหลายเมตร ซึ่งลำเถานี้จะอวบน้ำ ไม่มีขน และแตกกิ่งก้านสาขามาก ลำเถามีสีเขียว และสีม่วงอมแดง [1] [3] [4] [5]

ถิ่นที่พบ : เป็นพืชในเขตร้อนของเอเชียและแอฟริกา [6]

ผล : ผลแก่มีสีม่วงอมดำ เนื้อนิ่มภายในผลมีน้ำสีม่วงดำหรือสีขาว [3]

ผล : ผลมีรูปร่างกลม ฉ่ำน้ำ ขนาดเท่าเมล็ดถั่วเขียว [1]

ผล : เมื่อดอกแก่ก็จะกลายเป็นผล ซึ่งมีขนาดประมาณ 5-6 มม. โตกว่าลูกพริกไท 2-3 เท่า พอแก่จะเป็นสีม่วงอมดำ มีเนื้อนิ่ม ภายในผลเป็นน้ำมีสีม่วง [5]

ใบ : อวบน้ำใบรูปร่าง เป็นรูปไข่หัวใจหรือปนขอบขนานใบกว้าง 2-6 ซม. ยาว 2.4-7.5 ซม. [3] [4]

ใบ : เป็นไม้ใบเดี่ยว และจะออกสลับกันไปตามข้อต้น ลักษณะของใบคล้ายกับรูปหัวใจ ปลายแหลม โคนใบเว้า ยาวประมาณ 1.5-5 นิ้วมีสีเขียวเป็นมัน และเมื่อขยี้ดูจะเป็นเมือก [1] [5]
