ดอก : มีขนาดเล็ก ๆ ไม่มีก้าน ออกเป็นช่อเล็กยาวติดตามก้านที่พุ่งจากดิน [3]

ดอก : ออกเป็นช่อ ชูขึ้นมาจากกลางกอ ช่อดอกจะยาวและดอกนั้นมีขนาดเล็ก แห้ง มีสีเขียวอมน้ำตาล แต่จะไม่มีก้านดอก [5]

ต้น : เป็นพรรณไม้ล้มลุกขนาดเล็ก ที่มีเนื้ออ่อน โคนต้นจะอยู่ติดดินเลย เป็นไม้ที่มีอายุได้ หลายปี ลำต้นจะสูงไม่เกิน 1 ฟุต [5]

ต้น : เป็นพืชล้มลุกอายุหลายปี ลำต้นอยู่ใต้ดิน [3]

ผล : เมื่อแก่หรือสุกเต็มที่จะแตกตรงกลางผล [5]

ใบ : งอกขึ้นมาจากดิน ก้านยาว ใบรูปกลม โคนเรียวแหลม ปลายป้านแหลมหนา คล้ายใบผักคะน้า เส้นใบวิ่งตามยาว 5 เส้น สีเขียวไม่เข้ม [3]

ใบ : แทงขึ้นมาจากดินคล้ายกับใบผักกาด แต่จะมีก้านใบยาวกว่า แผ่นใบหนาเหมือนกับผักคะน้า และกว้าง ลักษณะของใบคล้ายช้อนสังกะสีขนาดใหญ่ แตกใบออกรอบ ๆ ต้น [5]
