ดอก : ออกเป็นช่ออยู่ตามง่ามใบ ช่อดอกยาว 1-1.5 นิ้ว มีสีขาวและมีขนาดเล็ก โคนกลีบดอกเชื่อมติดกันเป็นรูปท่อ ปลายดอกแยกออกเป็น 5 กลีบ ยาว 4.5-5 มม. กลีบด้านนอกจะเรียบ แต่ด้านในจะมีขนหนาแน่นเฉพาะส่วนบน [1] [2] [6] [7]

ต้น : เป็นพรรณไม้ต้นขนาดเล็ก แตกกิ่งก้านสาขาไม่มากนัก ผิวของลำต้นเป็นสีน้ำตาลเทาๆ เกลี้ยง ลำต้นสูงประมาณ 1-6 เมตร [1] [2] [6] [7]

ถิ่นที่พบ : พบในเอเชียเขตร้อน [8]

ผล : เป็นลูกกลมๆ หรือรูปรี ผิวจะเป็นตุ่มๆ รอบๆ ผลอ่อนสีเขียว พอแก่ทานได้เป็นสีขาวอมเขียว หรือออกเหลืองๆ ภายในมี 1 เมล็ด โตประมาณ 1-2 นิ้ว ยาว 1.5-4 นิ้ว มีรสเผ็ดร้อน [1] [2] [6] [7]

ใบ : เป็นไม้ใบเดี่ยว ออกเรียงกันเป็นคู่ๆ ไปตามข้อต้น ลักษณะของใบเป็นรูปมนรี ปลายและโคนจะแหลม ขอบใบเป็นคลื่นผิวใบเป็นมัน สีเขียว ขนาดของใบกว้างประมาณ 2.5-7 นิ้ว ยาว 6-12 นิ้ว บางทีตามใบจะมีจุดแต้มเป็นตุ่ม ๆ อยู่ซึ่งเกิดจากเชื้อแบคทีเรีย ก้านใบยาว 0.5 นิ้ว [1] [2] [6] [7]
