ดอก : ดอกเป็นรูปใบหอก ปลายแหลม เกสรตัวผู้เป็นแท่งแบนยาว เรียวเล็ก ล้อมรอบเกสรตัวเมียเป็นชั้นๆ ดอกบานตอนกลางคืน [1]

ต้น : เป็นพืชน้ำ มีรากฝังในโคลน [1]

ผล : เป็นฝักเล็ก มีเมล็ดขนาดเล็กอยู่ในเนื้อเยื่อหุ้ม เป็นวุ้นใส [1]

ใบ : ใบแผ่กว้าง ลอยอยู่ผิวน้ำ แผ่นใบอ่อน ขอบใบจัก มีสีเขียวแซมแดงดำน้ำตาล [1]
