ดอก : ดอกตัวผู้และดอกตัวเมียมีลักษณะต่างกัน ช่อดอกตัวผู้มีหลายดอก ส่วนช่อดอกตัวเมียเป็นดอกเดี่ยว กลีบมีสีขาว [1]

ดอก : ดอกเพศผู้เพศเมียแยกจากกัน ดอกเพศผู้ออกเป็นช่อยาวประมาณ 10-20 ซม. ดอกเพศเมียเป็นดอกเดี่ยว ฐานดอกเป็นหลอดยาว กลีบรูปไข่กลับ ปลายแหลมสีขาว [2]

ต้น : เป็นพรรณไม้เถาเลื้อยพาดพันตามต้นไม้ใหญ่ ลำต้นนั้นจะเป็นสีเขียวและมีขน [1]

ต้น : เป็นไม้เถาพาดพันตามต้นไม้อื่น ใบ และเถาคล้ายเถาฟักข้าว [2]

ถิ่นที่พบ : ขึ้นตามป่าทั่วไป [7]

เมล็ด (ผล) : กลมโตเท่าผลส้มเขียวหวาน ผลสุกมีสีแดงห้อยระย้า เยื่อหุ้มเมล็ดมีสีเขียวเข้ม เมล็ดมีพิษ เพียงแค่ 2-3 เมล็ด ก็สามารถทำให้คนถึงตายได้ในเวลาเพียงเล็กน้อย ถ้าหากกินเข้าไป [1]

เมล็ด (ผล) : ผลกลมรี เมื่อสุกสีแดง เมื่อแห้งเนื้อโปร่งเหมือนฟองน้ำ เกิดตามป่าทั่วไป [2]

ใบ : เป็นใบเดี่ยว รูปไข่เกือบกลม 5 เหลี่ยม หรือแฉกลึก 5 แฉก โคนเว้ารูปหัวใจ ขอบใบค่อนข้างเรียบ ปลายแหลม ผิวหยาบสาก ด้านล่างมีขน ยาวประมาณ 4 นิ้ว เถามีมือจับ [2]

ใบ : ใบคล้ายฟักเขียว ตามข้อของเถาจะมีมือสำหรับยึดเกาะ ใบมีขนทั้ง 2 ด้าน [1]

เมล็ดมีพิษ เพียงแค่ 2-3 เมล็ด ก็สามารถทำให้คนถึงตายได้ในเวลาเพียงเล็กน้อยถ้าหากกินเข้าไป

ผลทำให้ท้องเดินอย่างรุนแรง เมล็ดเป็นยาเบื่อที่มีฤทธิ์รุนแรงมาก ทำให้เสียชีวิตได้ง่าย แต่ส่วนอื่นเป็นยาสมุนไพรที่มีประโยชน์
