ดอก : ขนาดเล็ก สีขาวนวลออกเป็นช่อตาม ปลายกิ่ง [1]

ต้น : ขนาดใหญ่ผลัดใบในฤดูร้อน ลำต้นเปลาตรงเปลือกเรียบหรือแตกเป็นร่องเล็ก ๆ สีเทา โคนเป็นพูพอนต่ำๆ เรือนยอดเป็นพุ่มทรงกลมค่อนข้างทึบ เปลือกสีเทา เรียบ หรือแตกเป็นร่องตื้นตามความยาวลำต้น [1]

ถิ่นที่พบ : ขึ้นเป็นหมู่ในป่าเบญจพรรณทางภาคเหนือ บางส่วนในภาคกลางและภาคตะวันตก มีอยู่บ้างทางภาคตะวันออกเฉียงเหนือ [1]

ผล : เป็นผลแห้ง รูปร่างค่อนข้างกลม เส้นผ่าศูนย์กลางประมาณ 2 ซม. เปลือกแข็ง ภายในมี 1-3 เมล็ด [1]

ใบ : ใบเดี่ยวขนาดใหญ่มาก ออกตรงข้ามกันเป็นคู่ ปลายใบแหลมโคนมน ยาว 25-30 ซม. กว้างเกือบเท่ายาว ใบของต้นอ่อนจะใหญ่กว่านี้มาก ผิวใบขนสากคายสีเขียวเข้ม ขยี้ใบสดจะมีสีแดงเหมือนเลือด [1]
