ดอก : ดอกช่อ ออกที่ปลายกิ่งและซอกใบ กลีบดอกสีม่วง [2] [4]

ดอก : มีสีม่วง ออกรวมกันเป็นกระจุก เป็นพวงตามง่ามใบ หรือตรงข้ามกับใบ ดอกบานเต็มที่กว้างประมาณ 3 ซม. ช่อเกลี้ยงไม่มีขน แต่มีหนาม กลีบรองกลีบดอกมี 5 แฉกแหลมๆ เกลี้ยงหรือเกือบเกลี้ยง กลีบดอกมี 5 แฉก โคนกลีบติดกัน ด้านนอกของกลีบมีขนประปราย ส่วนด้านในเกลี้ยง เกสรตัวผู้เห็นแต่อับเรณูเป็นหลอดรวมกันเป็นกระจุกสีเหลืองอยู่ตรงกลาง หลอดท่อรังไข่เกลี้ยง ยาวยื่นเหนืออับเรณูมาเล็กน้อย [3]

ต้น : เป็นไม้เถาแกมไม้พุ่ม ตามลำต้นและกิ่งก้านมีหนามโค้งแหลมๆ ทั่วไป แต่ไม่มีขน [3]

ต้น : ไม้เลื้อย มีหนามตามกิ่งก้าน [2] [4]

ผล : กลมเกลี้ยง อุ้มน้ำ โตวัดผ่าศูนย์กลางประมาณ 1 ซม. ผลสุกสีแดง และภายในมีเมล็ดมาก [3]

ผล : เป็นผลสด รูปกลม ผลดิบสีเขียวมีลายตามยาว เมื่อสุกสีแดง [2] [4]

ใบ : เป็นใบเดี่ยว ติดเรียงสลับหรือเยื้องกันเล็กน้อย และมักเป็นกระจุกตามปลายๆ กิ่ง ใบป้อมกว้าง 1.5-5 ซม. ยาว 1.5-6 ซม. โคนใบป้านกว้าง ปลายใบมน เนื้อใบบาง เกลี้ยง สีเขียวอ่อนท้องสองด้าน ขอบใบหยักเป็นคลื่นเว้าแหว่ง ก้านใบมีหนาม [3]

ใบ : ใบเดี่ยว เรียงสลับ รูปไข่ กว้าง 4-5 ซม. ยาว 5-8 ซม. ขอบใบเว้า มีหนามตามเส้นใบ [2] [4]
