ดอก : ออกเป็นช่อ ดอกย่อยรวมกันแน่นเป็นแท่ง ดอกออกตรงส่วนของปลายเถา และตามซอกใบ ลักษณะคล้ายดอกชะพลู ช่อดอกกว้าง 0.5-0.8 เซนติเมตร ยาว 3-5 เซนติเมตร ช่อดอกเพศและเพศเมีย อยู่ต่างต้นกัน ก้านช่อดอกยาวเท่ากับก้านใบ ช่อดอกเพศผู้ยาว 4-5 เซนติเมตร มีเกสรตัวผู้ 2-3 อัน ช่อดอกเพศเมีย ยาว 3-4 เซนติเมตร [5]

ดอก : ออกเป็นช่อตรงกันข้ามกับใบ มีลักษณะเป็นแท่ง ปลายเรียวมน [2]

ดอก : เป็นรูปทรงกระบอกปลายมน เมื่อแก่จะมีผลเป็นสีแดง [1]

ต้น : เป็นไม้เถาเลื้อย ลำต้นบริเวณข้อมีรากเพื่อใช้เกาะยึดกับหลัก หรือพันต้นไม้อื่น [5]

ต้น : เป็นไม้เลื้อย มีรากออกตามข้อสำหรับเกาะและพาดพันสิ่งอื่นได้ เถาเป็นไม้เนื้อแข็งมีข้อโป่งนูน ส่วนของลำต้นค่อนข้างกลมและเรียบ แตกกิ่งก้านสาขามาก [2]

ผล : ผลสดมีสีเขียว เมื่อสุกสีแดงรสเผ็ดร้อน [5]

ผล : มีขนาดเล็กกลม ฝังตัวแน่นอยู่กับแกนช่อดอกที่อวบน้ำ เมื่ออ่อนสีเขียวแก่จัด เปลี่ยนเป็นสีน้ำตาลและเปลี่ยนเป็นสีแดงเมื่อสุก [2]

ใบ : เป็นใบเดี่ยว ออกแบบสลับ ตัวใบคล้ายรูปไข่ขอบขนาน หรือรูปไข่เรียว ปลายใบแหลมโคนใบมักมนหรือแหลม เนื้อโคนใบสองข้างไม่เท่ากันดูเบี้ยวๆ ใบหนาและมันคล้ายหนัง [2]

ใบ : เป็นใบเดี่ยวเรียงสลับกันไปตามข้อเถา ใบรูปไข่ แกมขอบขนาน สีเขียวเข้มเป็นมัน ก้านใบยาว 1.0-1.5 เซนติเมตร ใบกว้าง 5-6 เซนติเมตร ยาว 16-17 เซนติเมตร ฐานใบมน ปลายแหลม ขอบใบเรียบไม่มีหยัก [5]

ใบ : ใบรูปไข่ โคนมน ปลายแหลม เป็นพืชใบเดี่ยว คล้ายใบย่านางแต่ผิวใบมันกว่า และบางกว่าเล็กน้อย [1]
