ดอก : ดอกเดี่ยว ออกตามซอกใบ ดอกมีสีเหลือง [4]

ดอก : ออกเป็นดอกเดี่ยว ออกตามบริเวณง่ามใบ ลักษณะของดอกมีสีเหลือง กลีบดอกบาง ช้ำง่าย [4]

ต้น : เป็นพรรณไม้เถา ที่มีลำต้นเลื้อยพาดพันตามต้นไม้ หรือตามร้าน ลักษณะลำต้นเป็นเส้นเล็ก ยาว ลำต้นมีขนขึ้นประปราย [5]

ต้น : เป็นไม้เถาขนาดเล็กแต่มีเถาที่ยาวมาก พันเกาะเกี่ยวกับต้นไม้อื่นหรือสิ่งที่อยู่ใกล้ [4]

ถิ่นที่พบ : พบขึ้นตามป่าทั่วไป ในแถบเขตร้อน [9]

ผล : ผลกลมรียาวเรียว หัวท้ายแหลม ยาวราว 3-10 ซม. มีสีเขียว เมื่อสุกมีสีเหลือง หรือสีเหลืองส้ม ผิวขรุขระ เกิดตามที่รกร้างทั่วไป [4]

ผล : มีลักษณะเป็นรูปกระสวยสั้น พื้นผิวเปลือกขรุขระ และมีปุ่มยื่นออกมา ผลอ่อนมีเป็นสีเขียว เมื่อแก่เต็มที่ก็จะเปลี่ยนเป็นสีเหลืองอมแดง และผลนั้นก็จะแตกอ้าออก ข้างในผลก็จะมีเมล็ดอยู่ เป็นรูปกลม แบน ถ้าเมล็ดสุกก็จะมีสีแดงสด [5]

ใบ : ออกเป็นใบเดี่ยว ออกเรียงสลับกัน ลักษณะของใบหยักเว้าลึก มี 5-7 หยัก ปลายใบแหลม ใบมีสีเขียวอ่อน มีรสชาดขม [5]

ใบ : เป็นใบเดี่ยว รูปฝ่ามือ ขอบหยักเว้าลึก ใบมีขนเล็กๆ [4]

ผลมะระสุกห้ามรับประทาน เพราะจะทำให้มีอาการคลื่นไส้ อาเจียน

ผลสุก เป็นพิษ มี sponin มาก ทำให้อาเจียนและท้องร่วง อาจทำให้ตายได้ ห้ามรับประทาน

เมล็ดห้ามรับประทานมากมีพิษ เช่นเดียวกับผลสุก
