ดอก : ออกดอกเดี่ยว อยู่ตามง่ามใบหรือส่วนยอดของต้น ดอกเป็นรูปแตรหรือลำโพงมีขนาดใหญ่ มีสีม่วง สีขาว หรือขาวอมเหลืองอมม่วง มีกลีบซ้อนๆ กันอยู่ 2-3 ชั้น ดอกยาวประมาณ 3.5-5.5 นิ้ว [1]

ดอก : เป็นดอกเดี่ยว ออกบริเวณโคนก้านใบกับแขนงของกิ่ง เมื่อดอกโตเต็มที่บานออก มีรูปร่างคล้ายแตร มีขนาดยาวประมาณ 10-15 เซนติเมตร [2]

ต้น : เป็นพืชล้มลุกมีพิษชนิดหนึ่ง ลำต้นเมื่อโตเต็มที่มีขนาดความสูงประมาณ 1-1.5 เมตร ลักษณะ ลำต้น ใบ คล้ายต้นมะเขือพวง [2]

ต้น : เป็นไม้ล้มลุก มีอายุอยู่ 1-2 ปี ลำต้นมีขนาดเท่ากับต้นมะเขือพวง แตกกิ่งก้านออกไปรอบ ๆ ต้น ลำต้นจะเปราะแต่เปลือกต้นกลับเหนียว สูงประมาณ 2 เมตร [1]

ผล : เมื่อดอกร่วงโรยไปก็จะติดผล ซึ่งมีลักษณะเป็นลูกกลมขนาดเท่ากับผลมะเขือเปราะ แต่ปกคลุมไปด้วยหนามทั้งผล โตประมาณ 1-1.5 นิ้ว พอแก่จัดจะแตกออกมองเห็นเมล็ดที่อยู่ภายในสีน้ำตาลแบน อยู่เป็นจำนวนมาก [1]

ใบ : มีสีเขียวอมเหลืองอ่อน เป็นรูปหัวใจหรือรูปไข่ [2]

ใบ : เป็นใบเดี่ยวขนาดใหญ่ เป็นรูปไข่หรือค่อนข้างกลมเล็กน้อย ปลายใบแหลม โคนใบไม่เท่ากัน ขอบเป็นคลื่น [1]

ใบใช้มวนสูบเป็นบุหรี่ แต่ต้องระมัดระวังในการใช้ อย่าใช้ให้มากจนเกินขนาด ไม่ควรใช้เกินกว่า 1 กรัม มิฉะนั้นอาจจะเกิดอันตรายได้ โดยมีอาการคลื่นไส้ และเวียนศีรษะในขณะที่สูบ ควรเลิกทันที หรือมักมีอารมณ์เคลิ้ม เกิดความคิดสับในใช้เวลาหลายวันกว่าจะกลับคืนมาได้

หากใช้ในทางที่ผิดจะเป็นยาเสพติดได้ โดยจะส่งผลต่อระบบประสาทคือ ออกฤทธิ์หลอนประสาท

ควรระมัดระวังในการใช้เนื่องจากเมล็ดลำโพงมีพิษสูงมาก เนื่องจากสารอัลคาลอยด์ (alkaloid) ในลำโพงจะออกฤทธิ์อย่าง ช้าๆในระบบทางเดินอาหาร อาการเบื้องต้นที่พบบ่อยคือปากคอแห้ง กระหายน้ำ กลืนอาหารและน้ำด้วยความยากลำบาก ต่อมาสายตาพร่ามัว ระบบประสาทกลางถูกกระตุ้น มี
