ดอก : เป็นดอกเดี่ยว หรือเป็นช่อ ช่อละ 2-3 ดอก ก้านดอกยาว 0.5-1 ซม. กลีบรองกลีบดอก 4-5 กลีบ ขนาดไม่เท่ากัน มีสีเขียว กลีบดอก 5 กลีบ สีขาว รูปขอบขนาน รูปไข่กลับโค้ง ยาว 13-20 มม. เกสรผู้มีจำนวนมาก ก้านเกสรไม่ติดกัน [4] [6] [10] [11] [14]

ต้น : เป็นไม้พุ่มหรือไม้ยืนต้นสูงได้ถึง 15 เมตร กิ่งอ่อนเป็นสี่เหลี่ยม ยอดอ่อนมีขนสั้น ๆ ปกคลุม [4] [6]

ถิ่นที่พบ : เป็นพรรณไม้พื้นเมืองของประเทศสหรัฐอเมริกาเขตร้อน [15]

ผล : มีรูปร่างหลายแบบแล้วแต่พันธุ์ มีทั้งกลม แป้น รี รูปไข่ และรูปไข่กลับ มีกลีบรองกลีบดอกติดอยู่ที่ปลายผล ผิวมีหลายสีแล้วแต่พันธุ์ มีตั้งแต่เขียวอ่อนถึงเขียวแก่ ภายในมีเนื้อสีขาวนวล หรือชมพู สุกผิวสีเหลือง เนื้อนุ่ม มีกลิ่น [4] [5] [6]

ใบ : ใบเดี่ยวติดเรียงเป็นคู่ตรงข้ามกัน รูปขอบขนาน รูปรีหรือรูปไข่ปลายใบมนหรือมีติ่งแหลม ขอบใบเรียบหรือเป็นคลื่นเล็กน้อย โคนใบมนหรือเว้ารูปหัวใจ ใบกว้าง 2-6 ซม. ยาว 6-20 ซม. ด้านล่างมักมีขน มีเส้นใบ 12 คู่ ขนานกันนูนเด่นทางใต้ ก้านใบยาว 3-5 มม. [4] [6] [10] [11] [14]
