ดอก : ออกเป็นช่อตรงปลายยอด ช่อดอกยาวประมาณ 8-10 ซม. ก้านดอกยาวประมาณ 1-1.5 ซม. ดอกมีสีแดง และสีเขียว มีลักษณะเป็นเป็นรูปทรงกระบอกและห้อยลงมา ยาวประมาณ 3-5 ซม. กลีบรองดอกเชื่อมติดกัน ปลายจักเป็นแฉกเป็นรูปสามเหลี่ยมแกมรูปไข่ แบ่งเป็น 4 แฉก ตรงปลายแหลม [1]

ต้น : เป็นไม้ล้มลุก ลำต้นตั้งตรง สูงประมาณ 1 ม. อวบน้ำ ไม่แตกกิ่งก้านหรือแตกบ้างเล็กน้อย ผิวเกลี้ยง กิ่งก้านที่ยังอ่อนตามข้อจะบวม มีสีเขียวและและมีจุดสีม่วงเข้มแต้ม ต้นที่แก่แล้วจะมีใบเฉพาะครึ่งบน ในช่วงที่ดอกบานนั้นใบเกือบไม่มีเลย [1]

ผล : ผลออกเป็นพวง เมล็ดเป็นรูปขอบขนานแกมรี มีขนาดเล็ก [1]

รังไข่ : มีลักษณะเป็นรูปขอบขนานแกมรูปไข่ มีสีเขียว ผิวเกลี้ยง ยาวประมาณ 0.2-1 ซม. [1]

เกสร : เกสรตัวผู้มี 8 อัน มีความยาวประมาณ 3.5 ซม. ท่อเกสรตัวเมียจะยาว 2.5-3.5 ซม. [1]

ใบ : เป็นใบเดียว หรือใบประกอบมีใบย่อยอยู่ประมาณ 3-5 ใบ ใบเป็นรูปขอบขนานแกมรูปไข่ หรือรูปรีกว้าง มีความกว้างประมาณ 2.5-5 ซม. ยาวประมาณ 5-20ซม. ส่วนโคนและปลายใบจะมน ขอบใบเป็นจักเป็นซี่ผันมนตื้นๆ แต่ละรอยจักจะมีตาที่สามารถงอกออกรากและลำต้นใหม่ได้ เนื้อใบหนาอวบ ขอบใบมีสีม่วง ก้านใบยาวประมาณ 1.5-10 ซม. [1]
