ดอก : ออกเป็นช่อ ขนาดเล็ก ดอกออกบริเวณกลางลำต้น ช่อหนึ่งมีใบประดับประมาณ 2-4 ใบ กางออกอยู่ฐานช่อดอก ดอกย่อยจะไม่มีก้าน ดอกมีสีน้ำตาล [3]

ต้น : เป็นพรรณไม้ล้มลุก อยู่ในจำพวกหญ้า มีลำต้นอยู่ในดิน มีลักษณะเป็นหัวกลม สีดำ มีเส้นผ่าศูนย์กลางประมาณ 3-6 มม. ลำต้นเป็นดิน มีขนาดเล็กเรียว เป็นเหลี่ยม มีความสูงประมาณ 4-10 นิ้ว มีสีเขียวแก่ [3]

ต้น : เป็นไม้ล้มลุก คล้ายพวกหญ้า มีลำต้นใต้ดิน รูปร่างแหลมหัวแหลมท้าย ตรงกลางป่องแข็ง ผิวของลำต้นใต้ดินสีน้ำตาลดำ และสามารถแผ่ขยาย ไปเป็นเส้นยาวใต้ดิน และโผล่ต้นใหม่ขึ้นมาเหนือดิน ลำต้นบนดินเกิดจากก้านใบหัวซ้อนกัน [2]

ผล : เป็นรูปขอบขนาน ปลายแหลม หน้าตัดเป็นรูปเหลียม มีสีน้ำตาล หรือสีดำ [3]

ใบ : มีขนาดเล็กยาวเรียว ปลายแหลมทู่ กลางใบเป็นสันร่อง พื้นผิวใบเกลี้ยง มีสีเขียวเข้ม [3]
