ดอก : มีขนาดเล็กๆ สีขาวอมเขียว ก้านช่อเรียวยาว สีเขียวอ่อน มีใบประดับมาก ออกตามซอกใบ แผ่ซ้อนกันสองชั้นที่ปลายต้น เมื่อแก่เป็นสีน้ำตาลอ่อน [2]

ดอก : ออกเป็นกระจุก ดอกมีขนาดเล็ก เป็นสีขาวแกมเขียว ก้านดอกเป็นเส้นเล็กๆ สีเขียว ยาวประมาณ 6-7 ซม. ดอกแก่จะเปลี่ยนเป็นสีน้ำตาลอ่อน [4]

ต้น : เป็นพรรณไม้ที่มีลำต้นออกเป็นกอ มีหัวอยู่ใต้ดิน คล้ายจำพวกขิง ลำต้นมีความสูงประมาณ 100-150 ซม. ลักษณะของลำต้นตั้งตรงไม่มีกิ่งก้าน ลำต้นกลมมีสีเขียว [4]

ต้น : เป็นพืชจำพวกหญ้า มีเหง้าใต้ดิน สั้น และแข็ง ลำต้นเหนือดินรูปสามเหลี่ยมมน ออกเป็นกอ ตั้งตรง สูงประมาณ 1-1.5 ม. [2]

ถิ่นที่พบ : มีถิ่นกำเนิดอยู่ในทวีปแอฟริกา [5]

ผล : เป็นรูปไข่ มีท่อรังไข่ติดอยู่ [2]

ใบ : เป็นแผ่นบางๆ เป็นกระจุกที่โคน ปลายลำต้นมีใบประดับรูปดาบ สีเขียวสด ยาวประมาณ 30 ซม. เรียงซ้อนเป็นวงประมาณ 20 ใบ [2]

ใบ : ใบออกแผ่ซ้อนๆ กัน อยู่ปลายยอดของลำต้น ใบเป็นรูปยาว ปลายใบแหลม กว้างประมาณ 1 ซม. ยาวประมาณ 18-19 ซม. ใบมีสีเขียว ริมขอบใบเรียบใต้ท้องใบสาก ลำต้นหนึ่งจะมีใบประมาณ 18-25 ใบ [4]
