ดอก : ออกเป็นช่อ มีกลีบเลี้ยงประมาณ 5 กลีบ เป็นสีเขียว กลีบดอกติดกันเป็นหลอด มีกลีบรองดอกติดกันแน่น กลีบดอกเป็นสีขาว แดงออกม่วง และเหลือง ดอกบานเวลาบ่าย และหุบเวลาเช้า [1]

ต้น : เป็นพรรณไม้ที่มีอายุนานหลายปี ลำต้นเป็นข้อสีเขียว ตามบริเวณข้อพองออก สูงประมาณ 1 เมตร แตกกิ่งก้านสาขามาก [1]

ผล : ผลอ่อนสดเป็นสีเขียว ผลแก่เป็นสีดำ ผลเป็นรูปไข่ ยาวประมาณ 8 มม. ผิวข้างนอกขรุขระ ส่วนภายในมีแป้งสีขาวนวล [1]

ราก : มีลักษณะพองเป็นหัว มีเส้นผ่านศูนย์กลางยาวประมาณ 10 ซม. [1]

เกสร : เกสรตัวผู้มีความยาวพอๆ กับกลีบดอก เกสรตัวเมียมี 1 อัน เป็นเส้นยาวๆ ตรงปลายจะเป็นตุ่ม [1]

เมล็ด : รูปร่างค่อนข้างกลม ภายในมีแป้งสีขาว [5]

ใบ : เป็นสีเขียว และออกตรงข้ามกัน ตัวใบกลมรี ตรงปลายใบแหลม ฐานใบกว้างและโค้งเข้า คล้ายกับรูปหัวใจ และมีความยาวประมาณ 4-10 ซม. [1]

ดอก : นั้นจะมีกลิ่นหอมฉุน อาจจะทำให้มึนเมาได้
