| ดอก : ออกเป็นช่อ 3-5 ดอก หรือออกเดี่ยวตามง่ามใบ ดอกมีสีม่วง มีกลีบดอกและกลีบเลี้ยงอย่างละ 4 หรือ 5 กลีบ มีใบประดับยาวประมาณ 5 มม. ด้านนอกมีขน มีถ้วยรองดอกปกคลุมด้วยขนแข็งรูปดาว กลีบเลี้ยงเชื่อมกับ ปลายแยกเป็นแฉกรูปสามเหลี่ยม เกสรเพศผู้มี 10 อัน มีรูปร่าง 2 แบบ เกสรเพศผู้ที่อยู่ด้านนอก อับเรณูมีสีม่วง อับเรณูด้านในมีสีเหลือง รังไข่ติดกับฐานดอก ปลายปกคลุมด้วยขนแข็งสีน้ำตาล มี 5 ช่อง [1]

| ผล : เป็นผลแห้งแล้วแตก ผลแก่จะแตกที่ปลาย [1]

| ใบ : เป็นใบเดี่ยว รูปรี ปลายเรียวแหลมสั้น โคนใบกลม มีขนแข็งเอน แผ่นใบมีขนอุยปกคลุมทั้ง 2 ด้าน [1]

| ต้น : เป็นไม้พุ่ม กิ่งเป็นเหลี่ยม มีหนามสีน้ำตาลแดงปกคลุม ลำต้นสูงได้ถึง 3 เมตร [1]
