ดอก : ลักษณะดอก มีกลีบกลมรีสีเหลือง ปลายกลีบเป็นรอยย่นเป็นคลื่น กลีบเลี้ยงจะติดกัน ปลายแยกเป็น 5 กลีบ มีขนอ่อนปกคลุม ดอกมีเส้นผ่านศูนย์กลาง 3-5 ซม. [1]

ต้น : เป็นไม้เถาล้มลุก เลื้อยพันต้นไม้อื่น ลำต้นและยอดอ่อนมีขนอ่อนนุ่ม ลำต้นเป็นเถา 4 เหลี่ยม ยาวประมาณ 7-10 เมตร มีมือยึดเกาะเป็นเส้นยาว [1]

ผล : เป็นรูปทรงกระบอก บริเวณตอนปลายจะมีรอยของกลีบเลี้ยงติดอยู่ ผลยาวประมาณ 5-10 ซม. ผลอ่อนมีสีเขียวและมีลายสีเขียวแก่ ผลแก่จะเป็นสีเขียวออกเหลือง เนื้อในผลจะมีเส้นใยที่เหนียวมากเป็นร่างแห มีเมล็ดแบนรี มีสีดำ ผลบวบกลมบางชนิดมีรสขม เรียกว่า บวบขม [1]

ใบ : ออกตรงข้ามกัน ลักษณะใบค่อนข้างกลม มีรอยเว้าเข้าไป 3-7 รอย ปลายใบแหลมสั้น ขอบใบมีรอยหยัก ใบอ่อนมีขนปกคลุม ใบกว้าง 15-25 ซม. ยาว 8-25 ซม. ก้านใบเป็นเหลี่ยมมีขนอ่อนนุ่ม ยาวประมาณ 4-9 ซม. [1]
