ดอก : มีทั้งพันธุ์ที่เป็นดอกซ้อน (มะลิซ้อน) และกลีบไม่ซ้อน (มะลิลา) ดอกมีสีขาว มีกลิ่นหอม ดอกบานเต็มที่มีขนาดประมาณ 1 นิ้ว ออกบริเวณยอดก้าน [1]

ต้น : เป็นไม้พุ่ม ขนาดกลาง แตกกิ่งก้านรอบๆ ต้น ทรงพุ่มสูงประมาณ 5 ฟุต [1]

ใบ : เป็นใบเดี่ยว ใบเรียงเป็นคู่ๆ ใบมนป้อม ปลายใบแหลม โคนใบสอบเข้าหากัน ขอบใบเรียบ สีเขียวแก่เป็นมัน มีขนาดประมาณ 2-3 นิ้ว [1]
