ต้น : เป็นไม้พุ่มขนาดกลาง มีลำต้นแตกเป็นพุ่มหนาทึบและแผ่กิ่งก้านสาขาทิ้งใบ ห้อยย้อย ตามลำต้นมีรากอากาศแตกย้อยลงสู่พื้นดินเป็นจำนวนมาก มีลำต้นที่สูงใหญ่ [1] [2] [3]

ถิ่นที่พบ : พบขึ้นตามริมฝั่งแม่น้ำลำคลอง ที่ชื้นแฉะ มีทุกภาคในประเทศไทย [4]

ผล : เป็นรูปกลม เส้นผ่าศูนย์กลางประมาณ 0.8 ซม. เมื่อสุกสีเหลือง [1]

ใบ : ไทรย้อยในแต่ละพันธุ์ มีลักษณะของใบที่แตกต่างกันเล็กน้อย แต่โดยทั่วไปใบยาวประมาณ 3-5 ซม. แต่บางต้นก็มีใบกลมป้อม และบางพันธุ์ยาวรี ใบมีสีเขียวเรียบเป็นมัน เหมือนกันหมด มีก้านใบที่อ่อน ใบห้อยระย้าดูงามมาก [1] [2] [3]
