ดอก : ออกตรงยอด มีกาบสีนวลเหมือนสีงาช้างคลุมช่อดอก ทั้งช่อยาว 20-30 ซม. ดอกในช่อแน่น ขนาดเล็ก สีนวล ดอกบานตอนเย็นมีกลิ่นหอมแรง พันธุ์ไม้สกุลเดียวกับลำเจียกหรือเตยมีหลายชนิด สังเกตได้ง่ายจากลักษณะของต้นซึ่งคล้ายปาล์ม แต่ใบเป็นแถบยาวและแข็งและมักจะมีรากค้ำยัน [2]

ดอก : โผล่ออกมาจากกลางลำต้นพอดี ดอกจะเริ่มบานในเวลาตอนเย็นและมีกลิ่นหอมฉุน [4]

ต้น : เป็นพรรณไม้พุ่ม อยู่ในประเภทเดียวกับต้นเตย ลักษณะของลำต้นจะแตกเป็นกอใหญ่ มีลำต้นสูงประมาณ 4-6 เมตร บริเวณโคนต้นจะมีรากอากาศโผล่ออกมา [4]

ต้น : เป็นพันธุ์ไม้ชนิดเดียวกันกับเตย ซึ่งเป็นต้นที่ให้ดอกเพศเมีย ส่วนลำเจียกเป็นต้นที่ให้ดอกเพศผู้ พบขึ้นเป็นกอตามชายน้ำหรือที่ชื้นแฉะต้นกลม มีรอยติดของโคนใบเป็นวงตลอดต้น โคนต้นมีรากค้ำยัน [2]

ใบ : มีสีเขียว ใบใหญ่ ยาวและหนา ขอบใบเป็นจัก มีหนามแหลม ใต้ท้องใบมีแกนกลาง [4]

ใบ : ใบเดี่ยว เป็นแถบยาวค่อนข้างแข็ง และเหนียว ยาว 1-1.5 ซม. กว้าง 8-12 ซม. ขอบใบจักเป็นหนาม ใบเรียงสลับ เวียนเป็นเกลียวถี่ [2]
