ดอก : ออกเป็นช่อเล็กๆ เป็นสีแดง มักออกตามง่ามกิ่ง ส่วนดอกตัวผู้ และดอกตัวเมีย จะอยู่คนละดอกในช่อดอกเดียวกัน หรืออาจเป็นช่อดอกตัวผู้ทั้งต้น [1] [2] [3] [4]

ต้น : เป็นพรรณไม้พุ่ม สูง 2-4 ซม. [1] [2]

ผล : เป็นรูปไข่ ถ้าผลยังไม่แก่จัดจะเป็นสีเขียว ถ้าแก่จะเป็นสีดำ เรียบไม่เป็นขรุขระ และมีลักษณะคล้ายเมล็ดมะละกอแห้ง ส่วนเมล็ดในจะเป็นสีขาว และมีรสขมจัด [1] [2] [3] [4]

ใบ : เป็นใบประกอบ ใบย่อยออกแบบขนนก ขอบใบหยักแบบซี่ฟัน ตรงปลายใบแหลม ใบเป็นสีเขียวเข้ม [1] [2] [3] [4]
