ดอก : สีขาว ม่วง หรือม่วงแถบขาว ออกเป็นดอกเดี่ยวหรือเป็นช่อแบบช่อเชิงลดตามซอกใบ ใกล้ปลายกิ่ง ช่อละ 2-3 ดอก กลีบเลี้ยงสีเขียวสั้น ขอบเป็นหนาม โคนกลีบดอกเชื่อมติดกันเป็นหลอด ปลายแยกอยู่ชิดกันด้านบน 4 แฉก รูปไข่ อยู่ด้านล่าง 1 แฉก รูปเกือบกลม บานเต็มที่กว้างประมาณ 3 ซม.[3] [4]

ดอก : ออกเป็นกระจุก มีลักษณะเป็นรูปทรงกรวย หรือรูปแตร มีหลายสี เช่น สีม่วง สีม่วงอมชมพู สีม่วงอ่อนสลับม่วงแก่ สีขาว และสีเหลือง [2]

ดอก : ออกเป็นช่อและมีขน เป็นสีฟ้าอมม่วง หรือสีเหลืองออกขาว บางทีก็เป็นสีชมพู กลีบรองกลีบดอกมีอยู่ 4 กลีบ ดอกตอนโคนเป็นหลอดยาวประมาณ 3-4 ซม. และตรงปลายแยกเป็น 5 กลีบ ด้านนอกจะมีขน เกสรตัวผู้จะมี 4 อัน [5]

ต้น : เป็นพรรณไม้พุ่ม ขนาดเล็ก กิ่งก้านและใบ มีขนอ่อน ๆ เป็นสีเหลือง [5]

ต้น : เป็นพรรณไม้พุ่มเตี้ย มีลำต้นเป็นข้อ สูงประมาณ 3 ฟุต [2]

ถิ่นที่พบ : พบขึ้นทั่วๆ ไป ตามหัวไร่ปลายนา ป่าดงดิบ ป่าละเมาะ ป่าก่อ และป่าเต็งรัง [6]

ผล : เป็นฝัก มีลักษณะเป็นรูปรี ภายในฝักมีเมล็ดอยู่ 4 เมล็ด [5]

ผล : เมื่อแห้งจะแตก รูปรียาว [3] [4]

ใบ : ออกเป็นคู่ตรงข้ามกัน ลักษณะใบหนา ริมใบจักแข็งและมีหนาม ตามจักและปลายใบคมมาก [5]

ใบ : เป็นรูปหอก โคนและปลายเรียวแหลม ขนาดกว้างประมาณ 4 ซม. ยาวประมาณ 10 ซม. [2]

ใบ : ใบเดี่ยว เรียงตรงข้าม ใบรูปรีถึงรูปรีแกมรูปขอบขนาน กว้าง 1-4 ซม. ยาว 3-12 ซม. ปลายใบแหลม โคนใบสอบ ขอบใบเรียบ แผ่นใบสีเขียวเข้ม [3] [4]
