ดอก : ออกที่ปลายกิ่ง เป็นช่อสีขาว ชมพู หรือสีแดง ดอกคล้ายดอกเข็ม กลีบเลี้ยงสีขาวแกมเขียว ก้านดอกเป็นสีแดง มีกลีบรองกลีบดอก 5 กลีบ มีลักษณะเป็นหลอดโค้งเล็กน้อย [1] [2] [4]

ต้น : เป็นพรรณไม้พุ่ม ขนาดเล็ก ลำต้นมีความสูงไม่เกิน 60 ซม. เปลือกเป็นสีขาว มีน้ำยางสีขาว ผลัดใบในฤดูแล้ง ผลิใบใหม่ในฤดูฝน ดอกออกต้นฤดูหนาว [1] [2] [4]

ถิ่นที่พบ : พบขึ้นตามป่าเบญจพรรณ ป่าราบทั่วๆ ไป พบมากทางภาคเหนือ และภาคตะวันออกเฉียงเหนือ [6]

ผล : เป็นผลสดรูปวงรี ผลอ่อนเป็นสีเขียว ส่วนผลสุกเป็นสีดำ ผลมีลักษณะเป็นผลแฝดติดกันตรงโคนด้านใน และอุ้มน้ำ มีความยาวประมาณ 1-1.8 ซม. [1] [2] [4]

ใบ : ออกเป็นคู่ตรงข้ามกัน หรือรอบข้อๆ ละ 3 ใบ ใบเป็นรูปรีแกมรูปหอก ตรงปลายใบแหลม ใบกว้างประมาณ 1.5-10 ซม. และมีความยาวประมาณ 5-21 ซม. [1] [4]
