ดอก : มีลักษณะกลมและโต เป็นแบบ "Head" มีขนาดเท่าผลพุทรา เส้นผ่าศูนย์กลางของดอกประมาณ 0.5-1.5 นิ้ว และมีกลีบดอกเล็ก ๆ ซ้อนกันเป็นชั้น ๆ ทั้งดอก ตรงปลายแหลมคล้ายขนแข็ง ๆ ดอกนั้นจะอยู่ได้นานหลายวันกว่าจะโรย มีหลายสี เช่น สีชมพู แดงแก่ ขาว ม่วงแซมฟ้า บานเย็น [2]

ดอก : ออกดอกเป็นช่อ กลุ่มดอกกลมประกอบด้วยกลีบดอกเล็กแข็ง [3]

ต้น : เป็นพรรณไม้ดอกต้นเล็กๆ มีความสูงประมาณ 1-2 ฟุต ที่ข้อของต้นจะพอกออกเล็กน้อย บางต้นจะมีข้อเป็นสีแดงและบางต้นจะมีข้อเป็นสีเขียว ใน 1 ต้น มีการแตกกิ่งก้านมากมาย กิ่งก้าน และใบมีขนละเอียดอ่อนนุ่มปกคลุม ลักษณะสีของลำต้นและกิ่งก้านจะเป็นตัวบ่งบอกสีของดอกได้ [1] [2]

ต้น : เป็นไม้ล้มลุก ลำต้นแข็ง ตามข้อบวมพอง แตกกิ่งก้านสาขามาก [3]

ถิ่นที่อยู่ : พรรณไม้นี้มีปลูกกันทั่วไปตามบ้าน หรือตามสวน ทุกจังหวัด ถิ่นกำเนิดดั้งเดิมในอเมริกาใต้และอเมริกากลาง ปัจจุบันพบกระจัดกระจายอยู่ในแถบร้อนของทวีปเอเชีย ออสเตรเลีย ยุโรป และทวีปอเมริกา [1]

ใบ : มีลักษณะยาวรี ขอบใบเรียบ ปลายใบมีทั้งแหลมและมน ขนาดใบกว้างประมาณ 2-3 ซม. ยาว 5-7 ซม. ใบมีสีเขียวอ่อนและมีขนละเอียดปกคลุมอยู่ ใบออกเป็นคู่ตรงกันข้าม สลับกันไปตามข้อของลำต้น [2]

ใบ : เป็นใบเดี่ยว โคนใบมน ใบค่อนข้างยาว ท้องใบมีขนนุ่มสีขาว [3]
