ดอก : ออกเป็นช่ออยู่ตามง่ามใบ และที่ส่วนยอดของต้น ช่อดอกยาวประมาณ 1-2.5 นิ้ว แต่ดอกย่อยนั้นจะไม่มีก้านดอก ลักษณะของดอกย่อยที่โคนจะติดเชื่อมกันเป็นหลอด และตรงส่วนปลายแยกออกเป็นรูปถ้วยตื่น ๆ กลีบรูปสามเหลี่ยมด้านใบจะมีขน ด้านนอกเกลี้ยง มีเกสร 10 อัน [1]

ต้น : เป็นพรรณไม้ยืนต้นขนาดใหญ่ แตกกิ่งก้านสาขาที่เรือนยอดของต้นแผ่ออกกว้าง โคนต้นจะมีพูพอนขนาดเล็ก เปลือกสีน้ำตาลแกมเทา เรียบ ลำต้นโตประมาณ 150-200 ซม. และสูงประมาณ 20-30 เมตร [1]

ถิ่นที่พบ : ขึ้นอยู่ตามชายฝั่งทะเลทางภาคใต้ของไทย [1]

ผล : เป็นรูปมนรี ผิวเกลี้ยง แต่มีสันอยู่ 5 สัน ซึ่งเมื่อผลแห้งทำให้มองเห็นสันนี้ได้ชัดเจนมาก ผลโตประมาณ 1-2 ซม. ยาว 2-3 ซม. ภายในมีเมล็ดเป็นรูปรี ผิวขรุขระมี 5 สัน [1]

ใบ : เป็นไม้ใบเดี่ยว ออกตรงข้ามกันเป็นคู่ ๆ ลักษณะใบเป็นรูปมนรี ปลายแหลม โคนใบสอบหรือมน ขอบใบเรียบ มีเนื้อใบค่อนข้างหนาสักหน่อย ผิวเกลี้ยงสีเขียว ขนาดกลาง ใบกว้างประมาณ 1-2.5 นิ้ว ยาว 1.5-5.5 นิ้ว ก้านใบยาว 0.5-1 นิ้ว [1]
