| ดอก : ดอกแยกเพศ ดอกเพศผู้ไม่มีก้าน อัดรวมกันแน่นบนช่อดอก มีกลิ่นหอม ดอกเพศเมียเรียงกันอยู่ห่างๆ บนช่อดอก ไม่มีก้านดอก [2] [7] [8] |
| ดอก : เป็นดอกช่อ ออกตามซอกใบ ก้านดอกเดี่ยวยาวห้อยย้อยลงมา มีดอกเล็กๆ ติดบนก้านดอกจำนวน 30-50 ดอก [1] |
| ต้น : เป็นไม้เถา เลื้อยพันไปบนต้นไม้อื่น ส่วนของลำต้นที่อยู่เหนือดินมีขนและหนาม [2] [7] [8] |
| ต้น : เป็นไม้เถาเลื้อยพันต้นไม้อื่น ไม่มีมือเกาะลำต้นมีหนามเล็กๆ กระจายทั่วไปและมีขนนุ่มๆ สีขาวปกคลุม มีหัวอยู่ใต้ดินลักษณะทรงกลมรี มีรากเล็กๆ กระจายทั่วทั้งหัว มี 3-5 หัวต่อต้น เปลือกหัวบางสีน้ำตาลออกเหลือง เนื้อในหัวมี 2 ชนิด คือ สีขาว (กลอยหัวเหนียว) และสีครีม (กลอยไข่ กลอยเหลือง) [1] |
| ถิ่นที่พบ : พบตามที่ลุ่มทั่วไป และตามไร่นา [9] |
| ผล : คล้ายผลมะเฟืองมี 3 พู แต่ละพูมี 1 เม็ด เมื่อแก่แตกได้เอง [1] |
| ผล : ผลยาวประมาณ 5 ซม. มี 3 ครีบ เมล็ดมีปีกเฉพาะที่โคน [2] [7] [8] |
| หัว : หัวค่อนข้างกลม ส่วนบนและส่วนล่างแบน ไม่ฝังลึกลงในดิน ส่วนที่อยู่เหนือพื้นดินมักเป็นลอนตื้นๆ หัวมีขนาดต่างๆ กัน ผิวสีฟางหรือเทา เนื้อในสีขาวถึงขาวนวล [2] [7] [8] |
| เมล็ด : ลักษณะกลมแบน มีปีกบางใสรอบเมล็ดช่วยในการปลิวตามลม [1] |
| ใบ : เป็นใบประกอบ ก้านใบยาว 10-15 ซม. มีใบย่อย 3 ใบ รูปรีปลายใบแหลมขอบใบเรียบเส้นใบนูน ผิวใบสากมือ มีขนนุ่มๆ ปกคลุม ความกว้างของใบ 3-5 ซม. ยาว 8-10 ซม. [1] |
